Look like The Williams Sister and their jelly is once again the talk of Tennis. Venus Williams recently competed in the U.S. Open and yes she did leave as the winner. Despite her excellent game, the topic of discussion was most definitely her outfit. Venus choice of attire was a pink, sequined dress with matching Bedazzled tennis underwear. During the game, Venus shorts would rise up and reveal her underwear. In response Venus would had to tug at her shorts throughout most of the game. Her jelly and her attempts to hide it were such a distraction that the announcers on the CBS booth took a moment to have a short discussion about it.

At one point they had this exchange:
John McEnroe: I think that dress has distracted [Venus].
Dick Enberg: It’s distracting you.
McEnroe: That’s a fair point.
Enberg: It sounds like it might be a distraction to her opponent.
McEnroe: Well, she’s tugging at it. She’s uncomfortable with it.
Mary Carillo: She uses that fabric a lot in her designs, John. And for the last couple of years we’ve seen her have to correct her outfit after every point.

CBS went so far as to later display a “tug count” that tallied the number of times Venus and Peer pulled at their respective dresses following a point. At the time, Venus was leading Peer 42 to four.

I usually defend the Williams sister and their curvaceous bodies and explain that it is not their fault that their bodies draw so much attention in their shorts. I defend them because they cannot help that they are thicker than their White counterparts and should not be heckled over it. They are what we would call bootylicious and ain’t a damn thing wrong with that. I still stand by that but with one new added criticism towards the sisters. They obviously are aware of their stature. Perhaps it would be best to wear shorts that were slightly larger to prevent any spillage or embarrassing repetitive tugging throughout their matches. There is nothing that can be done about their physiques and I am not suggesting that they hide them or be ashamed. Rather make a slight adjustment to their usual wear so that it is less of a distraction to themselves in their games.

There is nothing more annoying to me than wearing a pair of shorts or underwear and spending the entire day pulling them out of your a**. I have done it before and I hated every uncomfortable minute of it. I don’t see how she did it. I would have had to call a time out to run into the locker room and put on some bigger shorts. When asked during a press conference after wards whether her shorts were a distraction? Venus replied “No, The only thing that bothered me was when I didn’t win the point, I think. That was it.” Venus, I could not have done it. You are a super star athlete indeed.
