This one goes out to all of my unemployed and underemployed hustlers out there. The government, in all their wisdom, has decided that cutting employment benefits would benefit those without a job because it would spur their re-entrance into the workplace. If that sounds stupid to you like it does me, you’ll understand why I say the American Dream just doesn’t work. There are people out there beating the block day in and day out looking for something, anything that will keep them in their homes and while some find work luckily, others do not. I wholeheartedly believe in the maintain and breakthrough means but right about now, survival alone is what matters.
“Oh, they’re just not looking hard enough…”
I’m sure you’ve seen the rant “there are jobs out there; you just choose not to take them”. How much sense does that make when you think about it? The guy with the $1750/month mortgage taking an entry level McCrapples job will not come anywhere close to what he needs to get by. The job is available, but he chooses to spend the day looking for work that will make ends meet instead as he should.
The Depression Era had hustlers too…
When I hear old time talk about the Great Depression era, I have to wonder the kind of side hustles cats were pulling back then to get by. There was no internet, no intangible profit farms like website advertising or spot brand assessments. You had to be near genius to come up with a moneymaker that didn’t involve laborious work on someone’s mine or railroad. Unfortunately, I don’t have any OGs around still alive from back then to soak game from but I can imagine that there were a few crafty cats out there getting it in.
The game doesn’t change; the attitude towards it does…
I say all that to say this: I know you may be out of work at the moment and the job market, depending on your area, is slim. Now is the time to dig within your creative juices and exploit opportunities where others may have overlooked. There is money everywhere, it just takes a keening of the eye to recognize it when you see it. My man Freeman over at Rise and Grind has an ever growing list of hustles you can execute quickly while Ed over at Dream and Hustle is always posting up sustainably long money business models. The moral of the story is even though the news networks and the guy next door to you decree the money has stopped flowing in the streets, don’t believe them. Brush it off and get back to the grind. Realize that having a job doesn’t make you better than the next man or more worthy of success than he. Understand that adding new skills to your set should be a natural progression, one you undertake with the purpose of continually learning new ways to spark up chips when the tide slows. All else fails, learn how to…. To Read The Rest Go To AmbitionIssexy
