For years celebrities have endorsed products. They have allowed companies of all sorts to place their faces on everything from clothes to condoms and collected a fee for their services. Sounds like a fair exchange? Well not exactly. I am noticing that Black celebrities are getting more into endorsing liquor. Remember when Billy Dee Williams was the face of Colt 45? Billy Dee Williams demographics of fans were all way past the age of 18. Which means that they were marketing to his fan base which consisted of older adults. A lot of the celebrities of this generation have much younger fans who watch their every move and want to emulate them. Is it safe to say that these liquor companies are marketing towards a much younger audience? Are artists socially accountable for the products they market? Take a look at this list.
1. Spike Lee is endorsing Absolute Vodka
2. Puff Daddy is endorsing Ciroc Vodka
3. Kanye West is endorsing Absolute Vodka
4. KRS One is promoting Smirnoff Vodka
5. Common is promoting Smirnoff Vodka

Are there stars simply getting paid and doing their jobs or are there deeper meanings here? Should they be cautious as to what they endorse due to the age of some of their fans? Are they not responsible to their fans in that way? Are there consequences to this?

Well its not like they came in the game to be community leaders eventhough they have great influence...clearly theyre career is not about that. Hey they drink it... so I'm a little torn about the enforcement of Vodka no one has made a good argument as to why the shouldn't.
