I am stumped!!! Why?

I agree with all of the comments. I wanted to add one more factor; what about her children? Does she have any children and if she does, do the children at school know that this is their mother? As grown ups what we need to realize is that our actions are not only our actions they affect our entire family. Erykah Badu, did you stop to think about how your children, your parents, your family, and friends may feel about your decision? Did you stop and think that now your children may be teased at school because of what you did? I guess not. This was a selfish and self-centered action. She did not think about the consequences and now she may have to pay for what she did. I wish her the best and hope she learns from this experience.

I happen to like Erykah too but this was a little too much. Never mind the nakedness, never mind filming on a street with people around. I do not like the significance of her getting shot naked where Kennedy was shot. I feel it is disrespectful to his memory.

Personally, I felt it was the ultimate publicity stunt and sell out in a sort of way. I love her music and she is truly an awesome talent but the reality is at the end of the day is how serious is this message going tto be taken because of ALL the Distractions. Unfortunately, I did not make the rules but rules are simply rules. More people are going to focus on her nakeness oppose to message being sent all day and night long. Therefore, was she unaware of this fact, hecky no. Money talks and speaks LOUDLY. Integrity is priceless and staying true to the art craft. Did she really have to bare it all like Halle Barry did in Monster's Ball??? If a woman wants to be taken seriously in "ROME" and trust that is where we are you have to follow the rules. She could have effectively expressed that same message and gain alot of respect by simply being way more creative and leaving some space for the imagination to do what it truly does best. I wish her well but will see her as a sell-out for that stunt. We are all grown and should know the rules of engagement by now for requirements of how to be taken seriously be the masses!!!

This was a cheap publicity stunt under the guise of "art". Why did she use downtown Dallas, a busy street with entire families present, and the daytime? She could have used a closed set, actors, and the proper permissions to get the same effect. This selfish act was bad as Janet Jackson at the Superbowl. It was bad and imposing as those big booty magazines at the newsstands, come to life. Does her career need that much reviving? What are you protesting with your nudity? Being broke? She went from carrying herself as a slightly quirky queen, to an idiot (disrespecting the relationship she had w/ Common, after they were on the cover of Essence together), to making bad music, and now this. The other way we know this was some selfish, contrived, b.s. is that she peels off her clothes one piece at a time, and slowly like a stripper. Why not all at once, or just show up naked? It was a slow, tittilating striptease on a busy street. Embarrassing! Next, why were her drawers so far up her a**? For effect, not protest. Next, why so much focus on her behind from the camera during this "protest"? I was never much of a fan, but she really lost my respect with this one. There's no connection between wanting a window seat, and taking off your clothes on location, in the daytime, on a busy street, but hey, it got her the attention she asked for in the lyrics.

She need to just keep making music and stop tripping.
