Howard Stern came under some heat recently for his comments about Gabourey Sidibe. He was quoted as saying something to the effect that Sidibe would not be able to have a career because she was a fat Black chick. He also went on to say that Oprah lied to Sidibe by telling her that she would even have a career. Although I understand his overall assessment in saying that Hollywood does prefer thinner women for their roles, he still did not have to say it in such a d**k head manner. Which was more the issue I think because he went on and on about Sidibe in his special Howards Stern jerk face way. Well he can bite Sidibe’s big Black ass because she just landed a new role on a sitcom.
Gabourey has been tapped for a recurring role in Showtime’s dark comedy series “The Big C,” the cable network announced on Tuesday. The actress previously guest starred in the series’ pilot episode. “The Big C” stars Laura Linney as Cathy, a repressed suburban teacher/wife/mom who vows to reclaim her left after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. Gabourey will play a quick-witted student in Cathy’s class, while Oliver Platt plays Cathy’s husband. Production on 13 new episodes will begin in May and the series will debut in late summer.
