Monique keeps pulling in the awards from Precious. Sunday night, Monique won the BAFTA which is the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award. I’m proud of her because this movie allowed her to stretch the characters she usually plays. The loud overbearing Black woman into the loud evil overbearing Black woman. I hope she continues to stretch herself in her acting. She won the best supporting Actress Award. Unfortunately she was not able to be at the event. Precious Director Lee Daniels accepted the award for her.

i was scared of and also angry at Monique's character in this movie, and then in the end when she was confessing to Mariah Carey's character, about why she allowed the man to abuse her daughter, i felt sorry for her.
It's so sad when women make men the centre of their lives and love them beyond reason, and allow men to do whatever they want to them and their children.
When Mariah Carey's character asked Monique's character what did she do when the man touched her daughter....she replied "I shut my fat a$$ up".
