Tatyana Ali has a new corny show on TV One. I’m glad to see that she is keeping busy and want her to be successful but damn this looks corny. There were some funny parts so it might have a chance. Hopefully the cornballish won’t overpower the comedy. Check out the clip for “Love That Girl”.
Hmmm. It looks like this show is heavily relying on too many stereotypes-about sexuality, gender, race, socioeconomic class...I hope that there's something in there with some kind of original story or message. I'll support it for the first few weeks to see what it's about. I definitely want to give Ms. Ali and the show's creators an opportunity to express themselves. Who knows, it may become my new favorite show. However, I will not support a lame show just because it's another FUBU production. There are too many shows that have skated by with that disclaimer and I am ready to see some creative and innovative Black entertainment. I know that if we demand it we will finally start to see it.
