In case you wanted to know, Will and Jada’s son Jaden Smith is now training and filming the remake of Karate Kid. The film is titled Kung Fu Kid and will also star Jackie Chan as the Master. Kung Fu Kid is currently being filmed on Wudang Mountain in Hubei, China. Father Will Smith is a producer for the film.
Rather than learning Karate from an eccentric Japanese teacher name Mr Myagi, as in the 1984 original, Jaden stars as Dre, a kid who moves to China and faces the your Chinese bullies. He meets Mr Han, played by Chan, who mentors him in kung fu and teaches him that there is more to martial arts than fighting. I think that 11 year-old Jaden is a great actor but I do feel like that he is too young for the role and they should have waited till her was at least 13. I always saw the karate kid as a teenager. My random thought. Even though he is young, Jaden will probably still pull it off. He has that Smith blood in him.
On another note, when did Will get that scoop bowl head? I am missing the hair. Not feeling this look. Just because you are somebody’s daddy doesn’t mean you have to look the part!
