The Internet is buzzing about Kelis Rogers (Nas’ ex-wife) giving birth to their baby boy today. A beautiful blessing is being tarnished with the rumor that Nas was not allowed to witness the event. Sources say that Nas rushed to the hospital but was turned away. It seems as though the divorce is getting more and more bitter as the days go on. I said it once and I will say it again, what did Nas do to Kelis to make her so angry towards him? It is one thing when a marriage does not work out because you two weren’t compatible but another when it dissolves because of some one’s actions. Whatever the reason, I hope that she allows him to have a relationship with his son. There are alot of women who wish their child’s father was willing to be in his child’s life. Maybe there was a valid reason why she did not want him in the delivery room. However, at this point it sounds as if she is punishing him. Thoughts?

I don't have any kids but I have many friends who do. With that said, it is my understanding that giving birth is a very stressful event. The goal during the birth is to have the mother as calm and centered as possible so that the delivery can progress as easily as possible. Clearly, from all of the reports, this divorce will not be amicable. I can't imagine having someone (Nas) who engenders such ill fillings in the mother in the room while delivering the baby. Surely, the health of the mother and child outweigh Nas' desire to be in the delivery room to witness the event. The fact that Nas and Kelis failed to work this out before the birth gives some indication of just how estranged they are. I'm sure after the delivery he was able to meet and bond with his son.
That's effed up. Put you childern first, people! What you want doesnt matter anymore, dont need Parenting 101 to know that.
